The GMSF Golf Outing

The GMSF Annual Golf Outing has been hosted at the exclusive Meadow Brook Club in Jericho, New York on the third Monday of July since its inception two decades ago. Growing from 100 attendees and golfers to well over 300, this lively day of golf and socializing has developed into an annual reunion for our many repeat attendees as well as becoming our largest fundraising event. Our generous donors enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the day, golf, competitions, raffles, and auctions culminating with our cocktail party. The winners of contests such as the famous “Bobby Glick Putting Competition” and “Beat the Pro”, are presented with awards and prizes including; dinner at Raos, golf trips, valuable memorabilia and fine wines to name a few. Champions of the day are announced and the trophies are engraved with the winners’ names becoming part of the 20-year legacy. The GMSF Food and Wine Celebration

A spectacular autumn tradition since 2003, attendees savor award winning Chef Daniel Boulud’s cuisine in the private Bellecour Room of Restaurant Daniel along with two of New York’s premier chefs each year.

The wine selections chosen by expert Tony DiDio, President of TD Selections compliment the outstanding culinary presentations. Notable vineyards and importers include: Dreyfus Ashby, Miner Family, Hanzell, Nino Franco Prosecco, Cusumano, Barone Ricasoli, Peter Zemmer. Ellen Negrin of Lauber Imports assists throughout the evening. Chefs throughout this twelve year relationship with GMSF have included: Jonathan Benno of Lincoln Ristorante, Saul Bolton of Saul Restaurant, Daniel Boulud of Daniel, Stephen Lewandowski of Tribeca Grill, Michael Lomonaco of Porter House-New York, David Pasternack of Esca, Don Pintabona of Locale Market-St. Petersburg, Bill Telepan of Telepan Restaurant, Anthony Scotto Jr. of Fresco by Scotto Restaurant, and Mark Strausman of Freds at Barneys New York.

The Chefs

Daniel Boulud
Born in Lyon, France, Daniel Boulud is the most celebrated chef in North America. With Restaurants throughout the world, Mr. Boulud has taken America by gastronomic storm and dazzles us with his craft. His 4-star flagship restaurant, Daniel, will host our event for the 13th year in a row.

David Pasternack
David is the chef/partner of 3-star restaurant Esca. This jewel of a restaurant has brought Italian seafood closer to America. We are proud to have avid back with us for the 11th year in a row and congratulate him on his new restaurant, Barchetta.

Markus Glocker
Markus Glocker, Executive Chef at Batard, was born in Austria and has excelled in top kitchens all over the world. In 2014, with restaurateur Drew Nieporent and managing partner John Winterman, Batard earned a 3-star rating from The New York Times, and a coveted Michelin star. In 2015, Batard was awarded Best New restaurant in America by the James Beard Foundation.

 

2017 Champions For Charity Holiday Shopping Benefit

CHAMPIONS FOR CHARITY is an annual benefit embraced by the community and many GMSF supporters. Participating shops and restaurants at Americana Manhasset and Wheatley Plaza donate 25% of customer’s purchases to GMSF benefitting, Cohen Children’s Medical Center. GMSF joined Champions for Charity in 2012 and immediately became the top grossing new charity.

We are grateful to our friends at Americana Manhasset and all our supporters who made their holiday shopping a way to brighten the lives of many children.

The GMSF Child Life Holiday Party

December 2017

For the past 20 years, Frances and Thomas have gathered with their children and grandchildren in the atrium of the Cohen Children’s Medical Center to commence the annual GMSF Holiday party benefiting Child Life Services. This event is designed to brighten the Holiday Season, treating each child to toys with gifts from generous donors, live music and storytelling, along with a visit from Santa and a beautifully lit holiday tree and décor.Participant donations support the Child Life Specialist in the PICU, as well hundreds of children and families throughout Cohen Children’s Medical Center of NY.
